4/12: Vanderbilt’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem – Past, Present, and Future

The Houston Chapter invites Vanderbilt alumni, parents and friends to take a front row seat for a special evening learning about Vanderbilt’s dynamic and innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem.

 

Hosted by Steven Madden, BS’91, the evening will include a discussion by the Vanderbilt Center for Entrepreneurship about the history and vision of the Center to build a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem for students and alumni. Current students will be flying to Houston to present their emerging startups in a mock pitch competition, including:

  • Paige Parker, 2nd Year Owen MBA student and Founder and CEO of Happenstance.Happenstance is a premium whiskey spirit that Paige has launched in the Nashville market and will be expanding and growing after she graduates this year.
  • Drew Horseman, PhD candidate and Co-Founder of Solar Aqua Flex. Drew has created a flexible solar-powered water purification mat designed to provide a more cost-effective, sustainable, and passive way to treat water for mining industries, municipalities, and non-profit organizations.
