BioTN Academic Alliance Scipreneur Challenge
We are seeking business professionals/entrepreneurs to mentor and support students for the Bio TN’s Academic Alliance Scipreneur Challenge!
The Scipreneur Challenge, organized by BioTN’s Academic Alliance, offers university students and postdoctoral fellows hands-on experiences in commercialization of research and entrepreneurship. Teams are tasked with designing a commercialization plan for real-life medical device IPs acquired from the Vanderbilt CTTC, including a business proforma (executive summary) and a 10-minute investor pitch which they will present during the final competition on March 23rd. Teams will receive training in various aspects of technology commercialization through educational materials, formal seminar, and coaching from experienced professionals over an 8-week program.
Each team will be matched with the IP’s an entrepreneurial-business mentor to offer guidance and coaching on commercialization plan development. Teams will need guidance on the general business strategy, regulatory hurdles, operational needs, etc. Business mentors will be tasked with donating two separate one-hour consultations with their respective teams, as well as attending the Final Pitch Competition on March 23rd.
