Congratulations to our March Firestarter Pitch winner, Tacit!👏

Tacit is a B2B SaaS platform that uses NLP AI to facilitate asynchronous 1-to-1 conversations with key stakeholders at scale. This enables organizations to create better, faster, and more evolving solutions based on the collective insights gathered from human capital.

Please join us on this Wednesday, March 22 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. for the first round pitch competition for the 2023 Sohr Grant. All are welcome to attend to cheer on and encourage the five student teams as they pitch their start-ups to a panel of judges. Selected ventures will move on to the final round to compete for the 2023 Sohr Grant. The event will be held in the Owen Graduate School of Management Room 110 (Averbuch). Dinner will be provided.

The March Voices of Entrepreneurship speaker serie

The March Voices of Entrepreneurship speaker series will take place on March 23 with featured guest Brittani Roberts.

Brittani is an Owen 2019 alum. While in grad school she was the President of the Venture & Entrepreneurship Club, and Vice Chair of the Honor Council. After graduating she joined FINTOP Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm that invests in B2B SaaS FinTech companies. As a Principal on the investment team, she manages diligence, portfolio management, and works closely with the leaders of the portfolio companies post-investment. Prior to her MBA Brittani found success as an enterprise sales and sales management professional at tech companies like Groupon and Olo.

Brittani will join the C4E in person for a fireside-chat-style conversation to discuss entrepreneurship

Students, alumni, staff, and community members are welcome to attend. We will have an in-person and Zoom option and will provide a free lunch for those attending in person. The event will take place in Owen Room 110 (Averbuch). Zoom link will be released at a later date.

The group pitched a sports-focused seed or series A startup they would invest in,
Draftea, a Mexico-based daily fantasy sports app, and presented their research and
rationale to a panel of professional sports VCs. Some of the panelists included: Drive
by Draft Kings, Seventy-Six Capital, and 49ers Enterprises. Congratulations🥳

Congratulations to Ellie Zimmerman, founder of @interns4good, on winning our January Firestarter Pitch Competition! 🥳

While backpacking in the Owyhee Mountains, Ellie and her friends contemplated the difficulty of finding meaningful internships in high school. Inspired by this discussion, Ellie went on to found Interns 4-Good, an online platform bridging the gap between nonprofits and volunteers. Since its inception, the organization has empowered countless motivated students and left a lasting mark on communities around the world.
