Startup Weekend Nashville

Techstars Startup Weekend will be hosted at Vanderbilt University on April 5-7, 2019 and invites all developers, imaginative students, business managers, startup enthusiasts, marketing gurus, and graphic artists to bring their ideas to life in under 54 hours. At Startup Weekend, participants create working startups and are able to collaborate with passionate and creative like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks.

Mentors

Michael Burcham

Michael is an entrepreneur, investor, teacher and healthcare strategist with over 25 years’ experience leading technology-enabled healthcare organizations. Michael is the CEO of Narus Health – a healthcare organization whose care management services and technologies support individuals with serious medical conditions, their families and the medical community engaged in their treatment.

Monique Villa

Monique is the founder of Modern Capital and investor at Mucker Capital working side-by-side to help launch and scale new ventures. Her startup experience spans venture capital, strategy, business development, and operations. She has worked closely with a wide range of talent spanning student entrepreneurs and global leaders.

Phil Shmerling

Phil is the SVP, Relationship Manager at Studio Bank, which focuses on empowering creators through a tech-savvy,hospitality-inspired approach. He has past experiences in angel investing, venture capital, entrepreneurship, and investment banking, his role at Studio include partnering with companies to help them navigate the banking and fundraising landscape.

D.J. Wootson

D.J. is a Nashville-based real estate developer and the founder/owner of Titus Young Real Estate. He launched Titus Young Real Estate LLC in 2014, which has invested more than $10 million in North Nashville. He also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt University earned while also obtaining his real estate license.

Jared Winegrad

Jared is a Managing Director at FINTOP Capital. Prior to FINTOP, Jared was the Director of Finance and Operations at a small venture studio in Nashville. There he managed multiple equity raises, seed/early venture investments, and an acquisition, in addition to performing modeling and analysis.
