Congratulations to Neil Granberry, Brandon Valentine, Patricio Lobeira, and James Keck for placing first overall at the inaugural SBU VC Competition. The team of Vanderbilt MBAs was tasked with selecting and pitching a sports-focused seed or series A startup for the competition. They presented research and rationale behind their selection of Drafttea, a Mexico-based daily fantasy sports app, to a panel of professional sports venture capitalists, including Drive by Draftkings, Seventy-Six Capital, and 49ers Enterprises. The team beat out competition from USC, UCLA, Duke, and Michigan.
